The CBDRM/Infrastructure Engineer for the Noshki Project, based at the SIF field office in Nushki, will play a crucial role in planning, conducting technical feasibility studies, designing, implementing, and reporting on community infrastructure interventions. Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer Noshki and with technical support and coordination from the WASH Coordinator, the Engineer will ensure strict adherence to construction standards during implementation and monitoring of physical infrastructure activities, ensuring timely and efficient project delivery. Additionally, the role may involve conducting surveys, participatory needs assessments, or other relevant activities as required to address community needs and support project objectives effectively.

Objective 1: Assessment and Training Activities:

  1. Conduct technical feasibility studies for community infrastructure schemes.
  2. Train masons and artisans on scheme design, construction techniques, and disaster-resilient engineering practices.

Objective 2: Technical Supervision Activities:

  1. Develop BOQs and designs for culturally appropriate, environmentally sustainable, and disaster-resilient community infrastructure projects.
  2. Oversee all construction activities, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and timely implementation.
  3. Supervise construction processes for community infrastructure, including masonry work, foundations, and other structural elements.
  4. Prepare and validate technical designs and BOQs, ensuring alignment with approved standards and coordinating with relevant government departments when necessary.
  5. Ensure proper storage, transportation, and documentation of construction materials, tools, and equipment at project sites.
  6. Plan and supervise environmental sustainability measures, including appropriate waste drainage systems and land use considerations.
  7. Conduct monthly evaluations of infrastructure activities to assess progress, prepare reports, and recommend programmatic adjustments as needed.
  8. Support the logistics team in the procurement and safe storage of construction materials at the community level.
  9. Facilitate the handover of completed infrastructure projects to beneficiaries and relevant line departments.
  10. Perform other construction-related duties required by the project.

Objective 3: Coordination Activities:

  1. Maintain strong collaboration with mobilization officers and community-based organizations (CBOs).
  2. Establish and sustain effective communication with relevant government and non-government stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation of projects.
  3. Coordinate with the MEAL department to ensure project quality, monitoring, and evaluation.

Objective 4: Documentation Activities:

  1. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all construction activities.
  2. Design and prepare BOQs for all community physical infrastructure (CPI) schemes.
  3. Develop and follow detailed work plans for all construction projects.
  4. Prepare and submit technical feasibility reports for proposed schemes.
  5. Submit comprehensive final reports for completed construction projects, incorporating lessons learned and recommendations for future projects.

Objective 5: Reporting Activities:

  1. Report all project activities promptly and accurately to the Project Officer.
  2. Collect, analyze, and interpret project data, providing feedback to relevant stakeholders.
  3. Prepare detailed field visit reports and other ad hoc reports as required.
  4. Compile and submit bi-weekly or monthly progress reports for all construction activities.
  5. Undertake any other assignments given by the supervisor in line with project requirements.
