Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Power BI Developer to design, develop, and implement business intelligence dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver insightful, data-driven solutions that enable informed decision-making across the organization. This role requires a strong technical background combined with the ability to translate complex business needs into effective visualizations and reports.

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and understand reporting and data visualization requirements. Design, develop, and publish interactive, user-friendly Power BI dashboards, reports, and datasets tailored to business needs. Utilize Power Query (M), DAX, and Power BI visuals to transform raw data into meaningful insights. Build and optimize data models to improve report performance and usability. Connect Power BI to diverse data sources such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and cloud platforms including Azure. Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of data within reports and dashboards. Maintain version control, document reports thoroughly, and perform performance tuning as necessary. Work closely with data engineers and database administrators to support data pipeline and data warehouse requirements. Provide support for ad-hoc analysis requests and develop self-service BI solutions for business users. Monitor report usage, troubleshoot issues, and manage user access and permissions effectively.

Required Qualifications
Proven hands-on experience in Power BI report development is essential. Strong proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling techniques is required. Solid skills in SQL for querying and data transformation are necessary. Experience integrating Power BI with multiple data sources such as SQL Server, Azure, Excel, and APIs is expected. A good understanding of data visualization principles and UI/UX design best practices is important. Ability to translate complex business requirements into effective technical solutions is critical. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech). The ideal experience range is between 5 to 8 years in relevant roles.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working with Power BI Service, including managing workspaces, apps, and security roles, is highly desirable. Familiarity with Azure Data Services such as Data Factory, Synapse, and Data Lake will be an advantage. Exposure to other BI tools like Tableau and Qlik is beneficial. Holding Microsoft certifications, particularly the PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst Associate, is a plus.
