Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the overall strategic objectives of the institution.
Provide visionary leadership for all information systems, including infrastructure, applications, data management, and cybersecurity.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential for improving operational efficiency and achieving institutional goals.
Lead digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

IT Operations & Infrastructure Management

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centers, cloud services, and communication systems.
Ensure the high availability, reliability, and performance of all information systems and applications.
Implement and manage robust IT service management (ITSM) processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service level agreements (SLAs).
Oversee IT support operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues for all users.

Application Management & Development

Manage the lifecycle of all enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, HRIS, SIS, EMR/HIS if applicable), ensuring their optimal performance and integration.
Lead requirements gathering, selection, implementation, and customization of new software solutions.
Oversee in-house application development projects, ensuring they meet user needs, quality standards, and project timelines.

Cybersecurity & Data Governance

Establish and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to protect institutional data and systems from threats.
Lead initiatives for disaster recovery, business continuity, and data backup strategies.
Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, software developers, and IT support staff.
Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and customer service within the IT department.
Manage staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development plans.

Budget & Vendor Management

Develop and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
Ensure effective vendor relationship management and adherence to contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

Collaborate closely with senior leadership, department heads, faculty, and staff to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions.
Act as a key advisor on technology-related decisions and investments.
