Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Vision

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the overall strategic objectives of the institution.

  • Provide visionary leadership for all information systems, including infrastructure, applications, data management, and cybersecurity.

  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to determine their potential for improving operational efficiency and achieving institutional goals.

  • Lead digital transformation initiatives across the organization.

IT Operations & Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centers, cloud services, and communication systems.

  • Ensure the high availability, reliability, and performance of all information systems and applications.

  • Implement and manage robust IT service management (ITSM) processes, including incident management, problem management, change management, and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Oversee IT support operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues for all users.

Application Management & Development

  • Manage the lifecycle of all enterprise applications (e.g., ERP, HRIS, SIS, EMR/HIS if applicable), ensuring their optimal performance and integration.

  • Lead requirements gathering, selection, implementation, and customization of new software solutions.

  • Oversee in-house application development projects, ensuring they meet user needs, quality standards, and project timelines.

Cybersecurity & Data Governance

  • Establish and enforce comprehensive cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to protect institutional data and systems from threats.

  • Lead initiatives for disaster recovery, business continuity, and data backup strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations and industry standards.

  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of IT professionals, including network engineers, system administrators, software developers, and IT support staff.

  • Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and customer service within the IT department.

  • Manage staff recruitment, performance evaluations, and professional development plans.

Budget & Vendor Management

  • Develop and manage the annual IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.

  • Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors, suppliers, and service providers.

  • Ensure effective vendor relationship management and adherence to contractual obligations.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, department heads, faculty, and staff to understand their technology needs and provide effective solutions.

  • Act as a key advisor on technology-related decisions and investments.
