Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine R&D IT is seeking a Technical Product Owner to join their Hyderabad team. This role is pivotal in shaping the vision and prioritization of technical features and enhancements to address evolving business needs. The successful candidate will work closely with both business and technology stakeholders to ensure alignment with architectural standards and technology roadmaps. With a strong focus on patient safety and innovation, this position blends hands-on technical work with strategic leadership to deliver scalable, high-quality healthcare solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Define and manage the engineering and technology architecture, roadmap, and technical decisions for the product squad in collaboration with leadership, including the Technical Product Manager and Business Unit Architect. Work alongside the Business Product Owner to establish and execute the product’s technical strategy and vision. Partner with Business and Technology Product Managers to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies through cognitive automation. Lead the squad in addressing technical challenges by engaging in hands-on coding, system design, and code reviews, ensuring compliance with the squad’s technology strategy. Drive the development and assessment of technical solution options, validating concepts with users. Negotiate technology choices with business partners and collaborate with platform and product teams to leverage existing platforms. Oversee software testing and deployment processes, prioritizing automated testing to maintain solution quality. Improve operational efficiency by utilizing SDLC toolchains and contributing automation tools such as CI/CD scripts. Communicate a unified technical and architectural vision to ensure solutions meet their intended goals. Facilitate agile development processes to support iterative delivery and adaptability. Lead pilot programs, analyze results, and refine solutions for scalability and production readiness, emphasizing performance, reliability, and quality. Manage risks and implement quality assurance measures during scaling efforts.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, IT, or a related discipline. At least five years of relevant IT and business experience. Strong understanding of global clinical regulations, computer systems validation, and the clinical technology landscape, including compliance requirements for medicinal product workflows and reporting. Experience in Testing, IT Project Management, Systems Support, or IT Compliance. Proven ability to manage large enterprise projects involving multifunctional teams. Skilled in gathering business requirements and translating them into IT solutions and delivery. Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C/C++, C#, Python, or Java, with experience in code review. In-depth knowledge of clinical systems, system/data integrations, downstream analytics, compliance, and dashboarding. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information confidently across organizational levels. Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive team culture that values diverse perspectives. Strong knowledge of cloud computing technologies and platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Willingness to travel domestically up to 20%.
