Telecom Network Engineer

We are looking for a talented Telecom Network Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our telecommunications infrastructure. The successful candidate will ensure the reliability and efficiency of network operations by managing projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with multiple teams. This position demands a proactive professional who can lead initiatives, mentor junior staff, and continuously drive improvements in network performance.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed plans, schedule tasks, and oversee the execution of network projects to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.

Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Identify and resolve complex network issues, making informed decisions to optimize performance and mitigate risks.

Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with IT, security, and business units to integrate network solutions that support organizational objectives.

Leadership and Mentorship: Lead deployment teams, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior engineers to strengthen team capabilities.

Process Improvement and Innovation: Regularly assess network performance and implement innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, scalability, and security.

Technical and Customer-Facing Responsibilities: Configure network devices, troubleshoot customer connectivity problems, and deliver technical support to both internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF. Experience with network security tools, VPN technologies, firewall configuration, and network monitoring software is essential.

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification is preferred.

Experience Level: At least 3 years of experience in network engineering, telecommunications, or related fields. Familiarity with cloud networking and SD-WAN technologies is a plus.

Soft Skills: Excellent communication, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, leadership qualities, and a collaborative mindset.

Industry Knowledge: Understanding of industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices in network design, implementation, and maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience working on telecom network deployments for large enterprises, internet service providers, or telecom service providers is highly desirable. Advanced certifications such as Cisco CCIE, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent specialized networking credentials will be an advantage.

Knowledge of emerging technologies like Software-Defined Networking (SDN), network virtualization, automation tools, and AI-driven network management is beneficial. Candidates with a proven track record in scaling network operations, managing global networks, or leading process improvements to enhance network efficiency will stand out.

Active participation in industry events, speaking engagements, publications, or contributions to open-source networking projects is a plus. Proficiency in additional languages to support communication within multicultural and global teams is also valued.
