Senior Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant with strong expertise in sales tax accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of accounting standards and be able to manage the company's financial health with a particular focus on sales tax compliance, returns, and reporting.

This position is critical in ensuring that our company meets all local tax obligations efficiently while maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain and supervise day-to-day accounting records and journal entries.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales tax returns in compliance with local laws.
Monitor sales transactions for tax applicability and correct classification.
Handle tax audits, queries, and correspondence with tax authorities.
Provide financial insight and support to the management team for strategic decision-making.
Support the budgeting, forecasting, and internal audit processes.
Assist in improving internal controls and accounting processes.
Coordinate with external auditors, banks, and consultants when needed.

Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in a company with high-volume sales.
Strong understanding of sales tax laws, filing procedures, and compliance standards.
Proficiency in using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Tally, Oracle, or ERP systems).
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
