This opportunity seeks experienced trainers or organizations to lead a community-based disaster risk management initiative under the "Restoring Social Services and Climate Resilience" project, funded by the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). The project aims to strengthen disaster preparedness and response capacities in 21 villages within UC Bijora and UC Garrho, District Thatta, directly benefiting around 50,000 community members. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering targeted training sessions to Disaster Management Committees (DMCs), local health professionals, and Community Organization representatives, with a focus on health-related disaster response and resilience building.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a customized training curriculum that covers disaster risk management, emergency health response, and resilience strategies tailored to local needs.
- Conduct eight interactive training sessions per Union Council (total of 16 sessions), utilizing practical simulations, emergency drills, and group exercises to enhance learning outcomes.
- Work closely with DMC members to assist in the development of localized, health-focused disaster management plans.
- Apply gender-sensitive approaches to ensure equitable participation and inclusivity throughout all training activities.
- Design and administer pre- and post-training assessments to measure improvements in knowledge and skills among participants.
- Prepare detailed reports capturing participant feedback, success stories, challenges encountered, and recommendations for future programming.
- Deliver all required documentation, including training materials, attendance sheets, photo records, session reports, and a comprehensive final impact evaluation report.
Required Qualifications
- Proven expertise in disaster risk reduction, health emergency response, and community capacity-building initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective training curricula and methodologies suited to community and health sector audiences.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple timelines and deliverables efficiently.
- Experience in conducting gender-inclusive training sessions and fostering equitable community engagement.
- Fluency in the Sindhi language is essential for effective communication with local stakeholders.
- Competence in monitoring and evaluation through the use of assessments and detailed reporting.
