Project Officer - Education

In Pakistan, Acted has been active since 1993 and has provided assistance across all provinces to an estimated 6.9 million people. The assistance has included emergency response to meet the immediate and life-saving needs of natural disasters and complex emergency-affected households, as well as recovery and development support in the form of education and livelihoods promotion and assistance.

JOB PURPOSE

ACTED with the support of Sindh Education Foundation, is implementing Adolescents and Adults Learning and Training Program (AALTP) in four districts including Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Badin and Umerkot. The purpose of the project is to identify, engage and graduate out of school adolescents aged 9-17 through approved curriculum of directorate of Non-Formal Education (primary and post primary).

With the purpose of ensuring and improving center learning environment, learning quality and improving teaching-learning outcomes, ACTED seeks the application of qualified profile for the position of Project Officer Education to be based at Jacobabad with frequent visits to other mentioned districts. It is almost 75% field with 25% office based.

OBJECTIVE

To ensure the project is implemented in a timely and professional manner, according to objectives, goals and indicators, in line with donor requirements and based on beneficiary needs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the overall supervision of the Project Manager and technical guidance from the Technical Advisor Education , the Project Officer - Education is required to perform the below-mentioned responsibilities; The detailed job description for the position is mentioned below,

-            Develop plan, implement and conduct regular sessions on Continuous Professional Development, Support staff professional growth through Continuous Professional Development, providing opportunities and support in meeting learning goals.

-            Ensure that all staff, through regular briefings, bulletins, and at meetings, are consulted on and kept up to date on academic matters and key center events.

-            Planning and conducting monthly, mid-term and final assessment of learners by developing assessment tools.

-            Liaise with teachers and head teachers to gain feedback and improve academic equality and assist with improving exam pass rates.

-            Regular center visits in targeted areas, assessing center performance and guiding relevant teachers for further improvements.

-            Develop, design and implement different center-based educational improvement activities including inter center competition, sports and other curricular and extra-curricular activities.

-            Develop and maintain excellent parental relationships, ensuring a high level of communication and consultation, so that parents feel fully involved with their child’s education,

Sexual abuse means the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions.
