We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Manager – Quality Control to join our offset printing division. In this role, you will oversee and enhance print quality processes to ensure that the highest standards are consistently achieved. You will support the leadership of the Quality Control team by managing inspection protocols, maintaining compliance with industry standards, and driving continuous improvements to exceed customer expectations. This position requires close collaboration with various departments to promptly address quality-related issues and implement effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily quality control operations within the offset printing production environment.
- Monitor and verify critical printing parameters, including registration, color consistency, ink density, and finishing quality.
- Assist in the setup and approval of first-off samples before mass production runs commence.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality inspection plans covering prepress, press, and post-press stages.
- Conduct quality audits and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve print defects.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards, client specifications, and relevant ISO/printing certifications.
- Support the Quality Control Manager in training, coaching, and evaluating team members to enhance overall performance.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Customer Service departments to resolve quality-related issues efficiently.
- Manage quality documentation, including inspection records, Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs), and customer complaints.
- Recommend and implement process and technology improvements to elevate print quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Printing Technology, Graphic Arts, or a related discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in quality control within offset printing, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of offset printing processes, including sheetfed and web printing, materials, and finishing operations.
- Proficiency in using color management systems, densitometers, spectrophotometers, and visual inspection tools.
- Solid understanding of ISO standards, lean quality methodologies, and defect prevention techniques.
- Excellent leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication.
