We are looking for a proficient MySQL Database Administrator to oversee the performance, availability, and security of multiple MySQL database instances, including those in clustered environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for provisioning new database instances, managing upgrades, backups, recovery processes, and ensuring smooth database operations. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams and requires the preparation of detailed documentation and technical specifications to support ongoing database management and interdepartmental coordination.

Key Responsibilities
- Provision and configure MySQL instances in both clustered and standalone setups.
- Ensure optimal database performance, security, and high availability.
- Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as upgrades, backups, recovery, and migrations.
- Monitor server resource utilization, analyze performance metrics, and implement necessary optimizations.
- Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to achieve project objectives and operational targets.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and technical specifications related to database administration.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 1 to 1.5 years of practical experience in MySQL database administration.
- Strong expertise in managing MySQL databases, including recent MySQL versions.
- In-depth knowledge of MySQL storage engines like InnoDB and MyISAM.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL replication setup and management.
- Ability to write and optimize complex SQL queries for efficient database operations.
- Familiarity with MySQL features such as the event scheduler.
- Understanding of MySQL limitations and effective workarounds compared to other relational database systems.
- Proficiency with version control systems such as Git, Mercurial, or SVN.
- Basic knowledge of other database technologies, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB.

This is a full-time position based in DHA Phase 5, Lahore, requiring on-site presence. The working hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
