You will mobilize and engage farmers and community members to ensure the successful implementation of FIFSA initiatives. He/ she Shall facilitate group formations, training sessions, and capacity-building activities to enhance agricultural practices, food security, and community resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Community Mobilization

  • Identify and engage with community leaders, farmers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Form and strengthen farmer groups or associations to participate in FIFSA initiatives.
  • Conduct awareness campaigns about the objectives and benefits of the project.

Capacity Building

  • Organize training sessions and workshops on sustainable farming techniques, climate-resilient practices, and food security strategies.
  • Support farmer groups in accessing resources, such as seeds, tools, and technical knowledge.
  • Facilitate exposure visits or knowledge-sharing events to enhance learning among farmers.

Project Implementation

  • Support the rollout of project activities, including distribution of inputs, demonstration plots, and monitoring of agricultural practices.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure community needs are incorporated into project planning.
  • Document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned.

Monitoring and Reporting

  • Conduct regular field visits to track the progress of farmer initiatives.
  • Collect data on key performance indicators (e.g., crop yields, adoption rates of techniques).
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports to the Project Manager.

Networking and Collaboration

  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and agricultural departments to create synergy in activities.
  • Represent the project at community meetings, workshops, and other relevant forums.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Social Work, Rural Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in community development, especially in agriculture or food security projects.

Skills:

  • Strong facilitation and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainable agriculture and food security practices.
  • Familiarity with local languages and cultural practices.
  • Proficiency in report writing and basic computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
  • Other: Willingness to travel extensively within project areas.
