DevOps - Infrastructure Sourcing & Optimization

We are currently looking for a proactive and detail-oriented DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in infrastructure automation and deployment. This role includes ownership of infrastructure cost optimization, vendor evaluation, and resource documentation, alongside traditional DevOps responsibilities such as CI/CD management, cloud deployments, and automation. The successful candidate will play a key role in tracking server rates, discount programs, monitoring utilization, and ensuring efficient infrastructure use.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and analyze pricing models, rate changes, and discount programs (including committed use discounts and spot pricing) across major cloud providers such as AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Track and document infrastructure costs and utilization metrics, identifying opportunities for cost savings across development, staging, and production environments.
- Maintain a centralized, up-to-date inventory of infrastructure assets, including servers, networking equipment, licenses, and cloud resources.
- Collaborate closely with finance and procurement teams to support budgeting processes, vendor negotiations, and ensure transparency in invoicing.
- Recommend rightsizing and resource reallocation based on usage patterns and forecasting to optimize infrastructure efficiency.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar technologies.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions to streamline application delivery.
- Deploy and manage microservices-based applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Monitor application and system performance with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
- Ensure security, compliance, and high availability across all systems and environments.
- Work collaboratively with development, security, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to enforce DevOps best practices.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering role.
- Proficiency with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including experience with cost management tools like AWS Cost Explorer or Azure Cost Management.
- Familiarity with cloud procurement models such as reserved instances, savings plans, and spot instances.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring, cost tracking, and utilization reporting.
- Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools, including Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible.
- Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, or similar platforms.
- Solid knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, specifically Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or equivalent.
