The Reading and Public Speaking Teacher is responsible for developing students’ literacy and oral communication skills through engaging and effective instruction. This role focuses on enhancing reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, and critical thinking, while also guiding students in speech writing, presentation skills, and public speaking etiquette. The teacher plays a key role in building students’ confidence and ability to express themselves clearly and persuasively in various settings.

Key Responsibilities:
Reading Instruction:
Plan and deliver lessons that encourage reading fluency, comprehension, and an appreciation for literature. Teach vocabulary and reading strategies appropriate to students’ age and skill levels. Use assessments to track student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual needs.

Public Speaking Instruction:
Teach students effective public speaking techniques, including voice control, body language, clarity, and audience engagement. Support students in preparing different types of speeches such as persuasive, informative, narrative, and impromptu. Organize and oversee speaking events like debates, presentations, and competitions. Build student confidence through structured practice sessions, constructive feedback, and peer evaluations.

Classroom & Student Development:
Create an inclusive and respectful classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and self-expression. Help students develop confidence, creativity, and strong communication skills. Provide timely feedback and maintain open communication with parents or guardians. Collaborate with other educators to integrate reading and speaking skills across the curriculum. Participate in school events, performances, or assemblies related to literacy and public speaking.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, Communication, or a related field is essential. Candidates should have at least two years of experience teaching reading, English, or communication skills. A strong understanding of literacy development and oral communication techniques is required. Excellent interpersonal skills and effective classroom management abilities are also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Experience with speech competitions, debate formats, or performance-based assessments is considered an advantage. This is a full-time, in-person position offering a starting salary of Rs40,000 per month.
