Silicon Labs, a global leader in low-power wireless connectivity and embedded technology, is seeking a Facilities Manager for its expanding site in Hyderabad, India. This role requires a proactive and organized professional who excels in both strategic planning and day-to-day facility operations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a strong focus on quality, and the ability to analyze and collaborate effectively with diverse teams. As Facilities Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing facility maintenance, security, space management, vendor coordination, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. Additionally, you will manage logistics for events, employee transportation, and sustainability initiatives, all while aligning operations with the company’s business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities Management: Manage the maintenance and operation of critical equipment such as AHUs, air compressors, electrical systems, and fire safety infrastructure. Oversee office space allocation, furniture procurement, housekeeping, security, mail handling, deliveries, and logistics. Lead compliance efforts related to the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System.
Operations Oversight: Supervise daily facility services including security, janitorial, and landscaping teams. Develop and implement standard operating procedures, conduct regular inspections, and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
Maintenance Management: Design and execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime. Coordinate repairs and servicing for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, CCTV, access control, and fire safety systems. Maintain detailed maintenance records and manage related budgets.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors. Negotiate contracts, monitor service quality, and ensure compliance with company standards.
Budgeting and Financial Management: Prepare and oversee the facilities and administration budget. Monitor expenses, identify opportunities for cost savings, and provide financial reports to senior leadership.
Project Execution: Plan and manage building installations, refurbishments, campus expansions, and other facility projects while minimizing disruption to business operations.
Emergency Preparedness and Response: Develop emergency response plans, coordinate drills, maintain emergency supplies, and respond promptly to urgent facility issues.
Sustainability and Environmental Initiatives: Drive energy efficiency, waste reduction, and other environmental management practices in partnership with relevant stakeholders.
Food and Employee Transport Services: Oversee employee transportation logistics, ensure compliance with travel policies, manage travel emergencies, and coordinate trip itineraries.
Office Administration: Lead administrative functions including office supplies management and front-desk operations. Supervise the facilities and administration team, support executive visits, and assist with scheduling and event coordination.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline is required, with a preference for Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. An MBA is considered an advantage. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in property management, facilities, safety, and security supervision, along with knowledge of local safety and environmental regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, while experience with AutoCAD, Revit, webpage maintenance, and “Office Space” software is highly desirable. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication, and effective leadership capabilities are critical for success in this role.
