Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Booking and Management:
- Coordinate and manage cargo booking, including container allocation and cargo manifest preparation.
- Monitor cargo loading and discharge operations to ensure timely and accurate handling.
- Handle documentation related to cargo bookings, manifests, and bills of lading.
Vessel Operations:
- Collaborate with vessel operators and agents to ensure the timely arrival and departure of vessels.
- Oversee cargo stowage and discharge plans, working closely with the vessel's crew and stevedores.
- Address operational issues and discrepancies during vessel operations.
Customer Service:
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requirements.
- Provide regular updates to clients on the status and progress of their shipments.
- Proactively manage and resolve any service-related issues to maintain customer satisfaction.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Ensure that all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping instructions, are accurate and compliant with regulations.
- Stay updated on international shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
Cargo Tracking and Reporting:
- Implement tracking systems to monitor cargo movements and provide real-time updates to clients.
- Generate operational reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve operational efficiency.
Coordination with Stakeholders:
- Collaborate with internal departments, port authorities, customs officials, and other stakeholders to facilitate efficient cargo handling.
- Work closely with agents, carriers, and service providers to ensure a seamless supply chain.
Cost Management and Process Improvement:
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements in cargo and vessel operations.
- Participate in the development and implementation of operational improvements.
