The Godown Dispatcher is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of paint products within the warehouse. They ensure that stock levels are maintained, orders are fulfilled accurately, and that products are delivered to customers on time. The position requires coordination with production, inventory control, and logistics teams to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Dispatching Orders:

  • Coordinate the timely dispatch of paint products to customers, ensuring that the right quantities and types of products are sent according to customer orders.
  • Verify the product details before shipment, including checking labels and packaging.
  • Prepare dispatch documents such as delivery notes, invoices, and packing slips.

Inventory Management:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, ensuring that products are stocked and readily available for dispatch.
  • Oversee proper storage of paint products to prevent damage, ensuring all goods are properly shelved and labeled.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and assist in cycle counting to prevent discrepancies.

Transportation Coordination:

  • Coordinate with transport teams or third-party logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Ensure that vehicles are properly loaded and unloaded, following all safety procedures, especially for hazardous materials like paints.
  • Track deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction and on-time receipt of goods.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure that warehouse operations comply with health and safety standards, particularly for handling and storing chemicals and flammable substances (such as paints and solvents).
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials according to regulations.

Team Coordination:

  • Supervise warehouse staff involved in loading, unloading, and storing products.
  • Communicate with other departments (production, inventory, and sales) to align stock levels, delivery schedules, and order priorities.

Customer Interaction:

  • Occasionally interact with customers to address delivery-related inquiries and resolve any issues regarding the order or product.

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a warehouse dispatcher or in logistics, preferably within the paint or manufacturing industry.
  • Experience with inventory management systems or warehouse management software (WMS) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to hazardous materials handling.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office and warehouse management software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Warehouse environment with exposure to chemicals, paints, and other manufacturing materials.
  • Standard working hours, with potential overtime during peak periods.
