A well-reputed National NGO requires the services of an experienced professional for the position of “Head of Programs” based at Quetta, Pakistan. This is a Senior Management Position and Head of Programs contributes to the program strategy by analyzing ongoing operations and challenges, researching best practices, and understanding industry trends. He/ She guides and coaches the Program Team and MEAL section holding them accountable for both people management and the team's overall results. He/ She also simultaneously leads, executes, and oversees a wide range of current projects, identifying areas for tactical improvement and strategic growth across all facets of the program.

Major Responsibilities:

The Head of Programs will

  1. Provide strategic leadership and expertise to the program
  2. Provide timely and high-quality proposals and reports to donors
  3. Ensure the development and utilization of best practices for technical interventions
  4. Network with, and represent the organization to partners (government authorities, donors, INGOs, local NGOs, CBOs etc.)
  5. Lead the Program & MEAL Sections with the goal of ensuring consistency among the policies, practices and compliance programs.
  6. Work with SMT to proactively identify potential risks, conflicts and areas of exposure, mitigate such conflicts
  7. Initiating and setting goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization
  8. Planning the programs from start to completion involving deadlines, milestones and processes
  9. Develop and approve budgets and operational plans

The successful candidate must have or be:

  1. Must have a Master’s degree (or above) in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Management Sciences or Disaster Management etc.
  2. Must have more than 15 years’ Experience of working with various International and National NGOs in development and humanitarian projects.
  3. Must be a self-starter who displays excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to effectively organize using a collaborative approach
  4. Must possess a highly flexible and efficient approach to managing his/her own time and those of team members, in particular, an ability to multitask, manage and meet multiple concurrent deadlines
  5. Have an in-depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to community development and SDGs.
  6. Experience of developing concept notes and proposals for a variety of national and international donors.
  7. Experience of successful fundraising and dealing with EC, UN, USAID and other international donors
  8. Experience of developing links with INGOs, Government agencies, Institutional donors, and other stakeholders
  9. Familiarity with the Sustainable Development Goals, Sphere Standards, Do No Harm policy, Red- Cross/ Red-crescent Code of Conduct, Humanitarian Accountability Program etc.
