The Elevator Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing elevators, escalators, and other lifts in commercial, residential, and industrial buildings. This position requires expertise in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems and providing quality service to ensure elevators operate safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation: Install elevators, escalators, and related systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on elevators to ensure they operate safely and efficiently, including lubrication, inspection, and cleaning of components.
  • Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic malfunctions in elevators.
  • Troubleshooting: Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and identify system issues in a timely manner.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety standards, codes, and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of passengers and staff.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate with customers regarding service needs, provide estimates, and ensure satisfaction with work performed.
  • Documentation: Keep accurate records of service, maintenance, and repairs performed, including documentation for inspection and regulatory purposes.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs in a timely manner to restore elevator service.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in elevator maintenance and repair is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in elevator maintenance, installation, or repair; experience with troubleshooting and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of elevator systems, electrical wiring, and hydraulic systems.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and operate tools and machinery safely.
  • Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction and documentation.
  • Licensing: Elevator technician certification or a license, if required by local regulations.
  • Safety: Ability to follow safety procedures and regulations, and to ensure safe operation at all times
