Chemists and Chemical Engineers will work closely under the supervision of the Director of Research & Development to ensure all laboratory activities adhere strictly to established work instructions. Their role is critical in maintaining the accuracy and reliability of laboratory testing performed by technicians. Any testing or work initiated for customers must receive prior approval from the Director, and test results should only be shared after verification by the Director or an authorized departmental representative. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality standards, and effective communication within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive laboratory analyses using a variety of instruments such as DSC, FTIR, density meters, mandrel and four-point benders, microscopes, tensile testers, sieve shakers, holiday detectors, CD test setups, ovens, furnaces, impact testers, penetration meters, melt flow index meters, autoclaves, hot plates, spectrophotometers, and all related accessories. Maintain detailed and accurate written records of all laboratory work in strict accordance with work instructions. Receive and log testing samples submitted by customers, ensuring proper identification and documentation. Perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and uphold cleanliness standards within the laboratory environment. Communicate with the Director regarding procurement needs for laboratory supplies and equipment. Ensure customer samples are correctly labeled with all necessary details prior to testing. Calibrate laboratory instruments as required to maintain accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Required Qualifications
A degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering is essential. Candidates should have proven experience working in a laboratory environment involving chemical testing and analysis. Proficiency in operating a wide range of laboratory equipment and instruments as listed above is required. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate records are critical. The ability to follow strict laboratory protocols and safety procedures is mandatory. Good communication skills are necessary to effectively coordinate with the Director and other team members.
This is a full-time, in-person role offering a competitive monthly salary range of Rs150,000 to Rs200,000. The position demands strict adherence to quality and procedural standards to support the Research & Development department effectively.
