Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to provide continuous, high-quality care to patients admitted in the ward. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring patient progress, managing clinical changes promptly, and collaborating closely with consultants, nursing staff, and support teams to ensure comprehensive patient management. This role demands strong clinical acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare environment. Candidates must be willing to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 24/7 medical care to patients admitted in the ward, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Continuously monitor patients’ clinical status, promptly identifying and responding to any changes or emergencies.
- Coordinate effectively with consultants, nursing personnel, and allied support teams to facilitate efficient and holistic patient care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of medical records, including progress notes and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with hospital protocols.
- Actively participate in ward rounds, patient case reviews, and multidisciplinary discussions to contribute to optimal treatment decisions.
- Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, ethical medical practice, and confidentiality in all aspects of care delivery.
- Exhibit strong clinical and diagnostic skills, coupled with clear and empathetic communication with patients, families, and healthcare colleagues.
- Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced ward environment, demonstrating teamwork and resilience under pressure.
- Commit to working flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to meet the needs of the patient population.
Required Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Valid medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience in ward-based patient care, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a high-demand environment.
- Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts, including nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
