Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain robust cloud infrastructure solutions following AWS best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud architecture, automation, and system administration, with a focus on fault tolerance, high availability, and security. This role involves managing CI/CD pipelines, supporting deployment frameworks, and leading technical projects from inception through to operational support. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across teams to ensure seamless cloud operations and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Design, deploy, document, and support cloud platform capabilities with a focus on AWS best practices, ensuring fault tolerance, high availability, and security are embedded in all solutions. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining CI/CD tools such as GitHub to streamline deployments and infrastructure updates, enhancing operational efficiency.
Provide ongoing support for internal deployment frameworks, troubleshooting complex technical issues within cloud environments. Lead technical operations projects by gathering requirements, designing solutions, implementing changes, and managing operational handover.
Deploy applications across major public cloud providers including Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. Utilize your expertise in system design and architecture to build scalable and resilient infrastructure.
Perform advanced Linux administration tasks to maintain system stability and security. Document processes and solutions clearly to support knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code using Python and tools such as Troposphere and Terraform. Leverage a wide variety of open source technologies and tools to optimize cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows.
Monitor system metrics, set up alerting mechanisms, and analyze performance data to identify root causes of issues and explain system behavior. Deploy automation solutions within public cloud environments to improve reliability and reduce manual intervention.
Collaborate effectively across functional teams to drive projects forward and achieve shared goals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience designing and deploying cloud infrastructure using AWS best practices, including fault tolerance, high availability, and security.
- Strong proficiency in CI/CD tools, particularly GitHub, for automating deployments and infrastructure updates.
- Advanced technical troubleshooting skills for cloud environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects from requirements gathering through implementation and operations.
- Experience deploying applications in AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure environments.
- Solid understanding of system design and architecture principles.
- Strong Linux administration skills, including system maintenance and security.
- Excellent documentation skills to clearly capture technical processes and solutions.
- Fluency in Python programming and infrastructure management tools such as Troposphere and Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and operational monitoring, alerting, and metrics analysis.
- Ability to deploy automation solutions in public cloud environments.
