Lead II - Software Testing

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Test Manager to lead and coordinate testing activities across projects. The ideal candidate will design and implement comprehensive testing processes, manage team productivity, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software products. This role requires strong expertise in test planning, execution, automation, and defect management, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including DevOps and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and organize testing processes tailored to project requirements, overseeing all test activities within the team.
- Produce accurate test estimates and schedules, ensuring comprehensive test coverage aligned with project goals.
- Generate detailed test results, defect reports, logs, and documentation to provide clear evidence of testing outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on defects and publish reports with preventive measures to improve quality.
- Maintain quality standards by ensuring deliverables adhere to engineering practices, processes, and organizational standards.
- Contribute to and support test automation and performance testing initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to understand testing frameworks and facilitate continuous testing integration.
- Manage team utilization and measure key performance indicators such as test script creation, execution productivity, defect leakage, test case reuse, execution coverage, defect acceptance, review efficiency, on-time delivery, effort variance, and automation coverage.
- Coordinate provisioning of test environments and test data to support testing activities.
- Participate actively in reviews, walkthroughs, demos, and secure stakeholder sign-offs for test deliverables.
- Prepare comprehensive test summary reports for individual modules and features.
- Analyze and prioritize requirements, identify gaps, and create workflow diagrams based on user stories or specifications.
- Engage in test management activities including preparation, tracking, and reporting of test progress.
- Identify critical business processes, conduct risk analysis, and ensure adequate test coverage.
- Prepare detailed estimates, schedules, and identify dependencies to support project planning.
- Contribute to and review best practices, lessons learned, and retrospectives to continuously improve testing processes.
- Develop test plans, test cases, and scripts; execute tests; identify risks and formulate mitigation and contingency plans.
- Perform root cause and trend analysis of defects to drive quality improvements.
- Identify and review test scenarios considering system interfaces and applications, and prepare Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
- Define and enforce engagement KPIs to monitor team performance.
- Lead governance calls and represent the team in stakeholder communications regarding testing issues.
- Review test cases and scripts to ensure compliance with best practices and standards.
- Conduct regression testing to verify that new changes do not introduce defects.
- Automate testing of new functionalities using established automation frameworks.
- Set up QA and UAT environments, working with test cases, XML, and data loading activities.
- Conduct testing of cost basis applications and perform cost analysis to support testing efforts.

Required Qualifications
- Proven ability to create, review, and manage comprehensive test plans.
- Skilled in preparing test schedules and estimates, tracking progress, and implementing corrective actions.
- Expertise in identifying test scenarios and preparing Requirement Traceability Matrices (RTM).
- Strong analytical skills to analyze requirements/user stories and prioritize testing activities.
- Experience performing root cause analysis (RCA) and capturing/reporting key testing metrics.
- Knowledge of test data and environment specifications.
- Familiarity with estimation techniques, testing standards, test design methodologies, scope identification, RCA techniques, and test automation tools/frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with mainframe applications including COBOL, CICS, DB2, and JCL.
- Background in software quality assurance, test automation, and cost basis systems testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and regression testing strategies.
