Key Responsibilities
The Primary Math Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering math lessons that align closely with the primary school curriculum. Lessons should be engaging and designed to promote active participation among students. Creating a positive and stimulating classroom atmosphere is essential to encourage curiosity and confidence in mathematics.
Regular assessment of student progress is a critical part of this role. The teacher will utilize a variety of formative and summative assessment tools to monitor learning outcomes and identify areas for improvement. Instruction must be differentiated to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students, ensuring that each child receives the support they require.
Incorporating technology and hands-on activities into lessons is encouraged to enhance understanding and make math concepts more accessible and enjoyable. The teacher will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of student performance and attendance.
Collaboration is key to success in this position. The teacher will work closely with colleagues, parents, and the school leadership team to support student development and contribute to the school community. Participation in school-wide events, meetings, and ongoing professional development is expected to stay current with best teaching practices and curriculum updates.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field, with a preference for those specializing in Mathematics. A minimum of three years’ experience teaching in a primary school setting is required. Applicants should demonstrate a strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate instructional strategies.
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Above all, candidates must show a genuine commitment to creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and personal growth of every student.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
While not mandatory, additional certifications in mathematics education or experience with educational technology tools will be considered an asset. This is a full-time, in-person position offering a competitive starting salary beginning at Rs40,000.00 per month.
