Job Summary
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Regional Sales Manager (RSM) based in Multan to lead and expand sales efforts within our Education division. This pivotal leadership role requires developing and executing strategic sales plans tailored specifically to the region, driving demand for Oxford University Press (OUP) products, and consistently achieving sales targets. The successful candidate will oversee a team of field sales professionals, fostering motivation, professional development, and high performance through effective coaching and training. Reporting directly to the Sales Director (South), the RSM will also spearhead change management initiatives that align with OUP’s core values, ensuring the business remains agile and competitive in a rapidly evolving market.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies for the assigned region to increase market penetration and meet or exceed sales goals. This includes constructing detailed business plans based on thorough market analysis, incorporating accurate product forecasts and SMART promotional plans.
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team by recruiting top talent, managing performance, and providing ongoing coaching and training to enhance skills and drive results. The RSM will champion change management within the sales team and the broader organization, ensuring alignment with OUP’s principles and fostering a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.
Collaborate effectively across different functions and cultural contexts to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies. Manage the regional budget with financial discipline, regularly analyzing sales performance data to inform strategic decisions.
Utilize MS Office and relevant statistical software tools such as iTrack, SPSS, SAP, or similar databases to support data-driven sales management and reporting. The role requires flexibility to travel locally and internationally as needed to support business objectives and strengthen client relationships.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, with a strong background in school education, is essential. Candidates must have 8 to 10 years of sales experience, including at least 4 to 5 years in a leadership role managing sales teams.
Proven business development skills combined with strong interpersonal, decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical abilities are critical. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellence in mentoring, coaching, and managing team performance to achieve ambitious targets.
Fluency in English with excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills is required. The ability to work effectively across diverse functions and cultural environments is essential for success in this role.
Financial competence in managing budgets and analyzing sales metrics is necessary, along with proficiency in MS Office and relevant statistical software packages. A valid driving license and willingness to travel as per business needs complete the candidate profile.
