General Accountant

Job Summary
We are looking for a meticulous and experienced General Accountant to join our finance team on a night shift schedule. The ideal candidate will oversee daily accounting operations, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and efficiently. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, with practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management. The position demands the ability to work independently during night hours, specifically from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, while maintaining exceptional accuracy and meeting strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
The General Accountant will be responsible for processing accounts payable and receivable transactions promptly and accurately. You will prepare and post journal entries to ensure all financial activities are properly recorded in the system. Supporting bank reconciliations and assisting with month-end closing procedures will be essential to maintain the integrity of financial records.

Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date financial documentation is a critical part of the role. You will also provide administrative support to the finance department as needed, helping to streamline operations. Generating financial reports and summaries will be necessary to support management’s decision-making processes.

Collaboration with other departments is key to identifying and resolving any accounting discrepancies, ensuring smooth financial operations across the organization.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in an accounting role is essential. You should have a solid understanding of core accounting concepts and principles.

Proven expertise in managing accounts payable and receivable processes is required, along with proficiency in general ledger entries and bank reconciliations. Strong data entry skills and a keen eye for detail are critical to success in this role.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is expected. The ability to work independently and efficiently during the designated night shift hours (7 PM to 5 AM) is mandatory. Excellent organizational skills, time management, and effective communication abilities are also necessary to thrive in this position.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience with the Odoo ERP system will be considered a strong advantage. This is a full-time, in-person position located at Defence Mor, Walton Road, Lahore, Pakistan. The role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs80,000 to Rs100,000.
