Job Summary
Intercargo Logistics SMC-Private Limited, a leading global freight forwarding company, is seeking a dedicated Sea Freight Coordinator for its Islamabad branch. This full-time, onsite position involves managing sea freight bookings and related documentation while ensuring strict compliance with HMRC and BIFFA regulations. The role requires effective communication with clients and shipping partners to facilitate smooth shipment processes. Key Responsibilities
The Sea Freight Coordinator will be responsible for managing the entire sea freight booking process using the CargoWise system, ensuring adherence to HMRC and BIFFA guidelines. This includes preparing and finalizing House Sea Waybills and Master Bills of Lading for shipments handled by Intercargo Logistics. The role also involves filing export customs clearance declarations within CargoWise, fully compliant with UK HMRC regulations.
Tracking and following up on all outbound sea shipments is a critical part of the role, requiring proactive coordination with shipping lines to ensure timely delivery. The coordinator will arrange pre-alerts and oversee the collection of goods and documents from clients, tailored to the specific service type. Maintaining clear and consistent communication with clients via phone, email, and the Zendesk ticketing system is essential to provide updates and resolve any queries promptly.
Additionally, the coordinator will handle billing processes according to the company’s established schedule of charges for various services. Organizing and maintaining comprehensive shipment documentation, both within CargoWise and externally, is necessary to ensure accuracy and compliance. Coordination with hauliers to facilitate efficient delivery and collection of goods is also part of the daily responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or a related field. Proven hands-on experience in sea freight operations is essential, including a solid understanding of Incoterms and their application in shipment handling. Basic knowledge of freight forwarding processes across multiple transportation modes is required.
Experience with both Less than Container Load (LCL) and Full Container Load (FCL) shipments is important. The role demands excellent English language skills, with strong written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint—is necessary, along with experience in managing email coordination through Outlook.

This position requires immediate hiring and is strictly onsite at the Islamabad office located on the 2nd Floor, OneExpressway, Gulberg Greens Interchange. Candidates must be comfortable with the specified working hours and ready to contribute effectively to a dynamic logistics team. The salary is negotiable, with a maximum of PKR 60,000 per month, based on experience and demonstrated skills.
