Job Summary
The Batch Mixing Supervisor at the Aerosol Plant located in the Karachi Industrial Area is a pivotal role responsible for managing and overseeing all batch preparation activities within the production department. Reporting directly to the Production Floor In-Charge or Division Manager, this full-time position ensures the precise mixing of raw materials according to established formulations while strictly adhering to safety and quality standards. The supervisor leads the mixing team, monitors raw material usage, and guarantees efficient and safe operations in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Key Responsibilities
The Batch Mixing Supervisor is tasked with executing batch mixing plans aligned with production schedules provided by the Production Floor In-Charge. They supervise and guide mixing operators to ensure accurate implementation of formulations and procedures. Monitoring raw material availability is critical, requiring timely requisition and proper usage according to batch requirements.
The role demands precise weighing, measuring, and mixing of raw materials following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintaining accurate documentation for each batch—including material consumption, batch timings, and any deviations—is essential to ensure traceability and quality control.
The supervisor is responsible for upholding cleanliness and hygiene in the mixing area, strictly following GMP standards. Coordination with Quality Assurance and Quality Control teams is necessary for batch approvals and sampling activities. Any equipment malfunctions must be promptly identified and reported to the maintenance team to avoid production delays.
Additionally, the supervisor conducts on-the-job training for mixing staff to reinforce safety protocols, SOP adherence, and operational efficiency. Enforcing strict compliance with safety measures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe chemical handling procedures, is a key part of the role. Maintaining proper housekeeping in the mixing zone and ensuring correct storage and handling of materials also fall under the supervisor’s responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Chemical, Mechanical, or a related field. A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in batch mixing is required, preferably within FMCG or aerosol manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of chemical mixing processes and safety standards is essential.
Proficiency in basic computer skills, including MS Office applications such as Excel and Word, is necessary for documentation and reporting. A solid understanding of production documentation and reporting requirements is also expected.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree is considered an advantage for this position. The role offers a competitive monthly salary ranging from Rs60,000 to Rs70,000. This is an on-site position based at the Karachi Industrial Area.
To support commuting needs, a fuel allowance of 30 liters per month is provided.
