Job Summary:
AlHaadi, a distinguished furniture brand known for merging traditional craftsmanship with modern design, is seeking an experienced and detail-focused Taxation Lead. This role is pivotal in managing all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, ensuring full compliance with tax regulations, and supporting strategic tax planning to optimize the company’s tax position. The Taxation Lead will work closely with internal teams and external authorities to guarantee accurate tax filings, timely submissions, and effective handling of audits and assessments.
Key Responsibilities:
The Taxation Lead will be responsible for the accurate and timely filing of all tax returns, including income tax, sales tax (GST), and withholding tax. This includes preparing and reviewing tax computations, reconciliations, and all supporting documentation to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
You will oversee adherence to regulations set by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), and other applicable tax bodies. Staying updated on changes in tax legislation and promptly implementing necessary adjustments is a critical part of this role.
Developing and executing tax strategies to optimize liabilities within legal frameworks will be essential. The role also involves providing expert tax advice related to business decisions, investments, and contractual agreements. Collaboration with various internal departments is required to ensure correct tax treatment of all transactions.
Managing tax audits and assessments is a key responsibility, including preparing responses and representing the company before tax authorities. Maintaining thorough documentation to support tax positions during audits and filings is mandatory. When necessary, the Taxation Lead will coordinate with external consultants or legal counsel to handle appeals and litigation cases.
Additional duties include ensuring proper deduction, deposit, and reporting of withholding taxes on payments, maintaining vendor tax records with accurate withholding rates, and keeping tax records up to date for both internal and external audits. Regular reporting on tax positions, liabilities, risks, and savings opportunities to management will also be part of the role.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Professional certifications such as CA, ACCA, ICMA, or CTA are highly preferred.
A minimum of 5 to 7 years of relevant taxation experience is required, ideally within manufacturing or industrial sectors. Strong knowledge of Pakistani tax laws, including the Income Tax Ordinance and Sales Tax Act, is essential.
Hands-on experience with e-filing portals of FBR and PRA is necessary. The ideal candidate will possess an analytical mindset, exceptional attention to detail, and strong accuracy in work. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are also required to effectively liaise with stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
Experience in taxation within the furniture, design, or construction industries will be an advantage. Familiarity with ERP or accounting systems such as SAP, QuickBooks, or customized platforms is preferred. Prior exposure to tax automation and digital compliance tools will be considered a plus.
