Job Summary
The Security Surveillance Officer (SSO) is a vital member of the campus safety team, responsible for ensuring the security and protection of internal campus facilities through continuous surveillance and monitoring. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Safety & Control Room, the SSO plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for all campus activities. This position demands flexibility, as it involves rotating shifts from Monday to Saturday, with morning shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and evening shifts from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Additionally, the officer may be required to work beyond regular hours during special events, academic functions, or on designated off days. Shift rotation is mandatory, and fixed shifts cannot be guaranteed.
Key Responsibilities
The Security Surveillance Officer will monitor campus security systems and surveillance equipment vigilantly to detect and prevent unauthorized activities. Regular patrols of internal facilities are conducted to ensure adherence to safety protocols and to identify any potential security risks. The officer must respond promptly and effectively to any security incidents, emergencies, or alarms occurring on campus.
Collaboration with the Senior Manager of Safety & Control Room is essential to report incidents accurately and maintain detailed records of all security-related activities. The officer will also provide security support during campus events and academic functions, ensuring that all security measures are properly implemented and enforced.
Maintaining confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive security information is critical. The SSO must adhere strictly to all safety regulations and institutional policies. Participation in mandatory shift rotations and flexibility to work extended hours when required are fundamental to this role.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have proven experience in security surveillance or related positions, preferably within an institutional or campus environment. The ability to work flexible shifts, including mornings, evenings, and occasional extended hours, is essential.
Strong observational skills and keen attention to detail are necessary to identify and respond swiftly to security concerns. Effective communication skills are required to coordinate efficiently with management and other staff members. Physical fitness is important to conduct patrols and remain alert throughout assigned shifts.
