Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in reviewing construction plans, preparing accurate quantity requirements, and managing costs related to materials and maintenance. This position demands close coordination with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and within budget. The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing detailed reports, contracts, budgets, risk assessments, and analyses, while providing strategic advice to managers and clients on potential improvements. Monitoring material usage, placing orders, and documenting design changes to maintain updated budgets are key aspects of this role. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to travel between the office and various construction sites are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze construction plans to prepare precise quantity requirements.
- Evaluate maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts, to secure cost-effective solutions.
- Collaborate closely with site managers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, budget forecasts, contracts, risk assessments, and detailed analyses.
- Provide expert advice to managers and clients on improvements and innovative strategies to enhance project outcomes.
- Monitor material consumption and place orders when necessary to avoid delays.
- Record any design modifications and update budgets accordingly to reflect changes.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Travel regularly to various construction sites to oversee project progress and ensure compliance.
- Demonstrate full proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of site equipment, including Levels and Total Stations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Management, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
- Solid understanding of construction processes and industry principles.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven ability to organize, plan, and strategize effectively.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Prior experience in construction estimating or finance is highly advantageous.
- A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Quantity Surveyor is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively, potentially up to 100% of the time.
- Candidates should be able to reliably commute or relocate to Karachi before commencing employment.
- This is a full-time position offering a monthly salary ranging from Rs35,000 to Rs50,000.
- The expected start date for this role is June 20, 2025.
