Network, Voice and DevOps Engineer

Job Summary
Waada is seeking a skilled and versatile Network, Voice & DevOps Engineer to take comprehensive ownership of our network infrastructure, voice platform (Vicidial), and DevOps operations. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse range of network equipment from various vendors, support VoIP systems, and maintain both on-premises and cloud environments. This role demands hands-on expertise in networking, telephony, cloud platforms, and automation to ensure high availability and optimal performance across our technology stack. The position offers an exciting opportunity to support and grow a dynamic infrastructure in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Network & Infrastructure Management
You will configure and maintain MikroTik routers, Cisco switches, and Unifi and Xiaomi Wi-Fi devices across office and data center locations. Managing multi-ISP network setups will be critical, including routing tables, NAT, load balancing, and failover strategies. You will design, implement, and maintain IPSec and L2TP VPNs to securely connect Waada’s cloud infrastructure with partner networks. Additionally, you will oversee firewall configurations and access controls on both on-premises and cloud systems, while monitoring and troubleshooting LAN/WAN connectivity to ensure uninterrupted internet access across all sites.

Voice / Vicidial Operations
Your responsibilities will include installing, configuring, and maintaining Vicidial contact center systems built on Asterisk. You will optimize Vicidial databases and manage MySQL replication setups (Master-Master, Master-Slave) to enhance performance. Diagnosing and resolving SIP-related issues such as codec mismatches, latency, NAT traversal, and registration failures will be part of your daily tasks. Integration of Vicidial with third-party APIs and internal systems, including CRM and reporting tools, will also be required.

Cloud & DevOps
You will manage cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and AWS, handling virtual machines, networking, and VPN configurations. Monitoring Linux systems using tools like Zabbix, applying security patches, and performing timely upgrades will be essential. Maintaining automation scripts written in Bash and Perl, scheduling cron jobs for routine maintenance and backups, and supporting continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for internal applications will also fall under your remit.

Application & System Integration
Troubleshooting backend issues related to Laravel PHP CRM, Apache webserver, and PHP-FPM will be part of your role. You will administer MySQL databases, including backup and restoration, query tuning, and replication management. Utilizing Metabase for data reporting and visualization, integrated with Vicidial APIs, will support business insights and decision-making.

Access & Partner Connectivity
Managing FTP servers with partner-level access controls and ensuring secure, auditable access to resources for both partners and internal users will be critical to maintaining operational security and compliance.

Required Qualifications
- 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Network, Voice, and DevOps roles.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
- Practical experience with MikroTik routers, Cisco switches, and Unifi access points.
- Solid knowledge of VoIP/SIP protocols, Asterisk, and Vicidial telephony systems.
- Experience managing Linux-based environments such as Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, or OpenSUSE.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms like GCP and AWS, including VPN setup and management.
- Proficiency in MySQL database management, replication, and optimization.
- Competence with Laravel, Apache/PHP stack, and scripting languages such as Bash and Perl.
- Experience with monitoring tools and patch management best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Certifications such as MikroTik Certified Network Associate (MTCNA), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), AWS or GCP Associate certifications, or Asterisk dCAP are highly desirable. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.
