Job Summary
We are currently seeking a committed Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional for a 4-month contract role. This position is pivotal in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace through meticulous documentation, thorough risk assessments, comprehensive training, and ongoing compliance monitoring. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing incident reporting systems, conducting regular safety inspections, and facilitating essential training programs. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires frequent travel, demanding a proactive and hands-on approach to maintaining workplace safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all safety-related incidents, inspections, and training activities. This documentation is crucial for compliance and continuous improvement of safety protocols.
- Develop and oversee a structured system for reporting and investigating accidents, near misses, and safety violations. This system supports fostering a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Issue work permits and monitor ongoing tasks to ensure adherence to safe work practices. Maintain proper documentation throughout the process to track compliance and progress.
- Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps and deliver both induction and refresher training sessions focused on Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) standards. Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
- Perform risk assessments as required to identify hazardous activities and major risks. Implement appropriate control measures to mitigate these risks effectively.
- Carry out daily walkthrough surveys using checklists to detect any non-compliance or safety issues. Collaborate closely with relevant departments to address and resolve these concerns promptly, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) roles, demonstrating practical knowledge and application of safety standards.
- NEBOSH certification is mandatory, confirming a solid foundation in occupational health and safety principles.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 100%) as the role demands frequent site visits and inspections.
- Ability to work full-time on-site for the entire contract duration, ensuring hands-on management of safety processes and immediate response to safety issues.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
