Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time Fractional CFO to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our company while providing strategic financial analysis to support key business decisions. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and detail-oriented, ensuring the company’s financial stability and enabling sustainable growth. This role encompasses bookkeeping, financial planning, compliance management, and delivering actionable insights to leadership to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Management:
You will maintain and manage QuickBooks Online, ensuring accurate daily and monthly reconciliations. Managing accounts payable and receivable is essential, with a focus on timely invoicing and collections. Payroll processing will be handled through Rippling, guaranteeing accuracy and punctuality. You will categorize and monitor business expenses, revenue streams, and profitability metrics. Additionally, you will prepare monthly financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Financial Planning & Strategy:
This role requires analyzing revenue streams, margins, and pricing strategies to maximize profitability. You will develop financial forecasts and cash flow projections to anticipate and prevent bottlenecks. Identifying cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies will be a key part of your responsibilities. Leading quarterly and annual budget planning, you will track performance against financial goals to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Compliance & Tax Preparation:
You will collaborate closely with the company’s CPA to ensure accurate tax filings and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations. Preparing and managing 1099 forms and contractor payments will be part of your duties. Staying current with financial regulations and best practices, especially those relevant to remote businesses, is critical to maintaining compliance and minimizing risk.
Financial Insights & Business Growth Support:
Advising leadership on scaling strategies, financial risks, and investment opportunities will be a core function. You will establish and monitor key financial performance indicators such as revenue per virtual assistant, client retention rates, and profitability per client. Supporting the refinement of pricing models and client billing structures will help optimize revenue and client satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in bookkeeping or financial management roles.
- Proven track record as a Senior Bookkeeper, Controller, or Fractional CFO within a growing company.
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online, financial modeling, and cash flow management.
- Deep understanding of profitability metrics, revenue tracking, and cost control.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with Bill.com and Rippling is preferred but not mandatory.
- Background in construction, coaching, or service-based industries is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
