PKR. 85,000 - 85,000/Month

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Education Facilitator to join our team at the Safe Home in Islamabad, Pakistan. This fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to support the education, empowerment, and psychosocial well-being of women and children residing in a humanitarian shelter. The facilitator will deliver both formal and informal educational sessions, manage vocational training instructors, and coordinate joint learning activities for mothers and children. Reporting directly to the Safe Home Coordinator, the role is integral to ensuring that educational programming aligns with the standards set by Inspire and UNHCR, while embedding protection and psychosocial support principles.

Key Responsibilities

The Education Facilitator will design and implement educational sessions tailored to the specific needs and age groups of adult women and children. These sessions will focus on literacy, life skills, and vocational competencies to foster empowerment and self-reliance. The facilitator will also organize interactive joint sessions that encourage parent-child bonding and shared learning experiences, enhancing family dynamics within the shelter.

Managing vocational training instructors is a critical part of the role. The facilitator will oversee their work, maintain detailed progress logs, and track attendance to ensure effective delivery of vocational programs. Additionally, the facilitator will keep comprehensive individual learning records and attendance sheets for all Safe Home residents, enabling continuous monitoring of educational progress.

All educational activities must adhere to trauma-informed, gender-sensitive, and protection-focused approaches. The facilitator is responsible for promptly reporting any serious incidents, protection concerns, or risks to the Safe Home Coordinator. Close coordination with Child Welfare and Social Assistance (CWSA), vocational instructors, and visiting facilitators is essential to maintain a cohesive and integrated program.

The role also involves liaising with local partners, NGOs, and community resources to enhance educational offerings and provide necessary referrals. Accurate documentation and timely reporting related to educational activities, attendance, and progress are vital to maintaining program quality and accountability.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, Psychology, or a related field. A minimum of three years’ experience is required, preferably between three to five years, in adult education, child learning, or shelter-based educational programming. Experience working in humanitarian or shelter settings with trauma-informed and gender-sensitive educational approaches is essential.

A strong understanding of humanitarian principles, safeguarding policies, and the Do No Harm (DNH) approach is necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents. Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in record-keeping and reporting, is required. Fluency in both Urdu and English is mandatory, while knowledge of local languages will be considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

This role provides a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the education and empowerment of vulnerable women and children within a structured, supportive environment. The position offers a fixed monthly salary of PKR 85,000 and the chance to collaborate closely with humanitarian actors committed to protection and psychosocial well-being.

Applicants must be under 40 years of age and able to commit to the fixed-term contract based in Islamabad. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about education and humanitarian work, seeking to make a tangible impact in a shelter setting.
