Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead operational excellence within a fast-paced FMCG/food production environment. The successful candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience with high-speed packaging and processing machinery, strong technical expertise, and proven leadership capabilities. This role demands a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement. It is a full-time, on-site position offering a competitive monthly salary.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Operational Excellence:
Efficiently operate and monitor high-speed packaging and processing equipment, ensuring all start-ups, changeovers, and shutdowns are performed and documented promptly in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines. Continuously monitor process parameters, machine alarms, and product quality, providing clear direction to the technical team for immediate corrective actions when necessary. Maintain accurate records of production and maintenance downtime. Lead daily shift handovers and actively engage in problem-solving sessions, including the initiation and closure of EWOs (loss root cause analysis forms) using analytical tools such as Why-Why and 4M.
Technical & Preventive Maintenance:
Perform operator-level preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, and inspections to ensure equipment reliability. Support and guide the maintenance team during troubleshooting, minor repairs, and equipment overhauls. Promptly escalate breakdowns and lead root cause analysis meetings involving technicians and operators. Make necessary minor and major equipment adjustments to meet production targets and quality standards.
Quality & Compliance:
Conduct in-process quality checks including weight verification, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and batch confirmation. Strictly adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), and hygiene protocols throughout all operational and maintenance activities.
Health, Safety & Environment:
Ensure compliance with safe working practices and immediately report any unsafe conditions. Follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures during maintenance tasks without exception. Consistently use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all site safety protocols. Actively participate in safety training sessions and contribute to safety audits.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvements (Kaizens) aimed at reducing downtime and minimizing losses. Contribute to Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Planned Maintenance (PM) activities as part of the Integrated Work System (IWS). Engage in ongoing training and upskilling initiatives to support personal growth and assist colleagues in skill development.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum education of B.Tech or Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred. Candidates with substantial relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
- At least 10 years of practical experience operating high-speed machinery, troubleshooting technical issues, and managing floor technicians in an FMCG or food production environment.
- Basic proficiency in reading and writing English and Urdu to effectively follow SOPs and complete documentation.
