Job Summary

The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a critical system dedicated to monitoring displacement and population mobility by systematically collecting, processing, and sharing data. This data provides valuable insights into the movements and changing needs of displaced populations, whether they are settled or in transit. Recognized worldwide as a leading source of displacement and migration information, DTM is currently being implemented in Pakistan. To strengthen data collection efforts in key locations with significant migration and mobility, DTM is seeking motivated enumerators. These enumerators will conduct interviews and coordinate field data collection activities under the supervision of the Project Assistant and DTM Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities

Enumerators will play a vital role in supporting data collection by identifying potential Key Informants and facilitators to aid in gathering accurate information. They will be responsible for reviewing scanned data collection forms daily to detect errors and verifying hard copies during field visits to ensure data accuracy. Regular field visits will be conducted to monitor enumerators’ performance, providing guidance and support as needed.

Timely data entry into KOBO is essential, with a preference for same-day input following interviews. Enumerators must verify the quality and accuracy of collected data and offer constructive feedback to field staff to maintain high standards. Continuous training and support will be delivered to ensure adherence to survey protocols.

Safety is paramount; enumerators are expected to enforce all safety procedures during fieldwork to protect themselves and their teams. Daily maintenance and updating of progress tracking sheets are required, along with sharing daily progress reports with provincial DTM focal persons.

Effective communication with enumerators is crucial to promptly address challenges encountered in the field. Supervising the WhatsApp group for live location sharing during field activities is also part of the role. Enumerators must uphold data integrity and protection by strictly following IOM’s Data Protection Manual.

Participation in briefings, orientation sessions, and training is mandatory to stay aligned with program objectives. Throughout all assignments, enumerators are expected to represent the program professionally and accurately.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess at least a secondary school diploma from an accredited institution. Undergraduate students or recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Fluency in Urdu is mandatory, alongside strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution is advantageous. Experience in conducting face-to-face or telephonic interviews for data collection is highly valued. Fluency in additional Pakistani languages such as Balochi, Pashto, Punjabi, or Sindhi is preferred, and English communication skills are considered an asset.

This position offers a daily wage of PKR 7,000, which includes travel and communication expenses related to field data collection. The role is contractual and based in Rahim Yar Khan and Jacobabad, Pakistan.
