Senior Engineer - QA

Job Summary
Silicon Labs, a global leader in low-power wireless connectivity and embedded technology, is seeking a seasoned Software Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer to join its Multi-Protocol team in Hyderabad as an Associate Staff Engineer. This role is pivotal in enhancing the quality of software for Silicon Labs’ Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, and 15.4 combo chips, which power a wide range of applications including IoT, wearables, and industrial automation. The successful candidate will become an integral part of a dynamic SQA team committed to delivering robust software solutions that uphold Silicon Labs’ reputation for innovative edge connectivity products.

Key Responsibilities
The role demands technical ownership of SQA activities related to Silicon Labs’ IoT product portfolio, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software. You will collaborate closely with fellow SQA engineers to meet project deadlines and drive successful outcomes. A proactive, can-do attitude is essential to foster a positive and productive team environment.

You will lead efforts to automate testing for new features while managing legacy backlog items efficiently. Regularly presenting project progress and technical insights to both local and global leadership teams will be a key part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will work cross-functionally with Software Development, Program Management, and Applications Engineering teams across multiple geographies to understand project requirements and deliver critical milestones.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of 9 years of experience in the wireless domain, with expertise in one or more wireless protocols such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, BLE, or 15.4. Experience of at least 3 years in testing coexistence between multiple wireless protocols is highly preferred.

Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with embedded systems and embedded C applications are essential. Familiarity with resource management and tracking tools like Jira and Confluence is required to efficiently manage workflows and documentation.

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while demonstrating a strong sense of ownership and responsibility, is critical. Excellent communication skills and the capability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional, geographically distributed teams are also necessary.

A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines will be advantageous. A background in testing or developing embedded software products is preferred.

Knowledge of version control systems such as Git, along with familiarity with programming languages like C++ or Java and scripting languages including Perl, Python, or Tcl, will strengthen your candidacy.

An understanding of data communications and networking principles is also beneficial.
