Job Summary
The ICT Associate position, based in Islamabad, Pakistan, is a contractual role dedicated to managing the ICT systems and activities within the capital office while providing support to various mission bases across the Pak-Mission. The primary goal is to maintain a secure, efficient, and resilient ICT infrastructure that complies with Action Against Hunger’s standards, ensuring optimal support for all end users. This position is contingent upon the approval and successful launch of related future projects.
Key Responsibilities
The ICT Associate will oversee and manage the mission’s ICT and telecommunication environment, ensuring full compliance with Action Against Hunger’s ICT standards and strategic objectives. This includes supervising local networks, telecommunications resources, and internet connectivity, guaranteeing high-quality and uninterrupted services.
Supporting the Head of Department (HoD) Logistics, the ICT Associate will contribute to ICT-related aspects of proposals and reports submitted to funding agencies. They will also assist in managing the mission’s energy backup systems and ensure regular user data backups using ACF’s standard tools.
Security of the ICT environment is a critical responsibility, requiring the Associate to maintain robust safeguards for both hardware and software systems. They will deploy and maintain ICT infrastructure, including software updates and NAS systems, across all mission bases to ensure consistent service quality.
The role involves organizing and implementing digital archive systems in line with ACF logistics guidelines, managing data protection, and controlling user access. The Associate will also explore and implement digital solutions for mission users, providing technical support and safeguarding beneficiary digital databases.
Coordination with logistics and ICT teams at the capital level is essential to ensure compliance with ACF’s logistics regulations, safety standards, and internal controls related to procurement and management of ICT equipment. The Associate will conduct regular training sessions to build staff capacity on ICT procedures and best practices.
Collaboration with the coordination office and HQ infrastructure team is required for international procurement, transport, and deployment of ICT infrastructure and software updates. The Associate will also manage local market surveys for ICT procurement, provide technical feedback, and assist with regulatory compliance, including obtaining necessary NOCs.
Maintenance responsibilities include developing repair plans, conducting routine operational checks, managing inventory, and ensuring proper tagging and record-keeping of ICT assets. The Associate will oversee the transfer of equipment between bases and manage e-waste disposal in accordance with organizational policies.
Warehouse and facility management duties involve maintaining security, stock levels, and compliance with health and safety standards. Accurate and timely reporting aligned with ACF policies is also expected.
Finally, the ICT Associate must uphold and promote Action Against Hunger’s gender equality, child protection, and safeguarding policies, fostering an inclusive, respectful, and safe office environment.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent technical qualification is required. Candidates must have a minimum of three years of overall professional experience, with at least one year in a relevant ICT role within the development sector.
