Job Summary
The Assistant Manager Accounts will report directly to the Manager, Finance and Accounts, playing a pivotal role within the finance department by executing complex accounting functions in line with generally accepted accounting principles, departmental policies, and regulatory standards. This position involves leading a team of accounting professionals and support staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial operations. The role demands meticulous handling of detailed financial data, preparation of comprehensive reports, and continuous monitoring of the financial status of assigned business divisions. The ideal candidate will bring at least five years of solid experience from reputable organizations, demonstrating strong expertise in accounting standards and financial management practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting activities, including overseeing the general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
- Ensure the timely and precise completion of month-end and year-end closing processes, adhering to internal deadlines and standards.
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial reports, management information systems (MIS), and variance analyses, providing actionable insights to senior management.
- Maintain strict compliance with accounting standards and internal financial policies to uphold regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Oversee the timely filing of statutory returns such as GST, TDS, and income tax, ensuring full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Supervise junior accountants and finance staff by reviewing their work for accuracy, providing guidance, and fostering professional development.
- Coordinate effectively with internal and external auditors, facilitating audit processes and addressing audit findings through corrective measures.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities by tracking actual performance against budgets and reporting significant variances.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for cost control and operational efficiency improvements within the finance function.
- Implement best practices in financial operations and reporting to enhance the overall effectiveness and reliability of the finance department.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA qualified or CA finalist with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in well-established organizations.
- Practical knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, and tax regulations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and perform efficiently under pressure.
- Proven experience managing accounting functions across multiple domains, demonstrating leadership and technical expertise.
