Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Instruction:
The lecturer will deliver dynamic lectures, practical sessions, and demonstrations on core subjects such as anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques. Utilizing diverse instructional methods—including multimedia tools and hands-on activities—the goal is to enhance student engagement and deepen understanding.
Course Material Development:
You will design and regularly update course syllabi, lesson plans, and assessment instruments to align with curriculum standards. Emphasis will be placed on integrating evidence-based practices and the latest advancements in physical therapy to ensure course content remains current and rigorous.
Student Assessment and Evaluation:
Responsibilities include preparing and grading exams, quizzes, assignments, and practical evaluations to measure student knowledge and clinical skills accurately. Providing constructive feedback is crucial to support students in meeting academic and professional benchmarks.
Academic Advising and Mentorship:
The role involves advising students on academic progress and career pathways within physical therapy. Supporting student participation in research projects, internships, and clinical placements will be an important part of mentorship.
Curriculum and Program Development:
Collaboration with faculty members to review and enhance the DPT curriculum is expected, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and industry best practices. Active participation in departmental meetings and curriculum review processes is required.
Research and Professional Development:
Engagement in scholarly research related to physical therapy is encouraged, with opportunities to publish findings in academic journals. Attendance at professional conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs is essential to stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
The lecturer will promote the DPT program through involvement in community events, health fairs, and awareness campaigns. Building partnerships with hospitals, clinics, and healthcare organizations to facilitate student placements and collaborative initiatives is also a key responsibility.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent (MS/MPhil) in Physical Therapy; Doctorate (DPT) preferred.
- Prior teaching experience, preferably in higher education, with expertise in physical therapy subjects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and current industry developments.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Proficiency with instructional technologies and digital learning platforms.
