Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Associate to manage the full accounting cycle for our organization. This role demands precision in financial data entry, maintaining and optimizing the chart of accounts, and supporting overall financial operations. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in QuickBooks, preferably with a QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification, to streamline workflows and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Additionally, familiarity with both U.S. and Pakistani taxation is highly desirable, as the position involves assisting with tax preparation and related client support in these regions.
Key Responsibilities
The Accounting Associate will be responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, payroll processing, and month-end and year-end closing activities. Accurate entry of financial transactions into QuickBooks is essential, along with maintaining all necessary supporting documentation.
You will develop, review, and optimize the chart of accounts to ensure alignment with company needs and accounting best practices. Regular reconciliation of bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records is required to maintain accuracy.
Preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial statements and reports will support management decision-making. You will also assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning efforts. Ensuring compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant accounting regulations is a critical part of this role.
Supporting annual audits and coordinating with external auditors will be necessary. Additionally, you will identify and implement improvements to accounting processes to enhance efficiency. Staying updated with the latest QuickBooks features and best practices, as well as performing other accounting duties assigned by the Finance Manager or CFO, will be expected.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a minimum of two years of proven experience in full-cycle accounting. Strong proficiency in QuickBooks is essential, including the ability to design and manage an effective chart of accounts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, is required. The role demands excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, along with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
A QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is highly preferred, enhancing your ability to optimize accounting workflows. Knowledge of U.S. and Pakistani taxation is advantageous due to the nature of client requirements.
This is a full-time, on-site position based in G-15, Islamabad. Candidates must be able to commute to the office and work night shifts from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday through Friday.
