Senior Design & Application Engineer

Job Summary
Avanceon is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Design & Application Champion to join our global team. This role is perfect for an automation engineer who is passionate about innovative design and hands-on application. You will play a critical role in enhancing manufacturing efficiency and asset performance by developing advanced automation solutions for complex industrial challenges. Working closely with some of the world’s largest manufacturers, you will drive automation excellence across a variety of industries, delivering impactful results on a global scale.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for designing, configuring, integrating, and implementing process control solutions customized to diverse industrial settings. This includes developing detailed Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and loop descriptions for plants, processes, and equipment to ensure clarity and precision in project execution. Preparing clear User Requirement Specifications will guide the development process effectively.

Your role will also involve creating robust software and hardware design specifications to guarantee system reliability and optimal performance. You will design, write, implement, test, and document software for PLC, DCS, SCADA, and HMI systems with meticulous attention to detail. Developing and executing control system validation and testing protocols will be essential to maintain system integrity throughout the project lifecycle.

You will specify and procure critical process instrumentation, PLCs, DCSs, drives, and other electrical components and equipment, ensuring that all elements meet project requirements. Producing detailed electrical and control panel schematics will support smooth system installation and ongoing maintenance.

Managing project scope through comprehensive supply documentation and monitoring automation project progress will be key to timely and effective delivery. You will also oversee onsite installation, testing, and commissioning of control systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing operations.

Finally, providing thorough training to operators and engineers on new control systems will maximize operational efficiency and empower client teams to fully leverage the technology deployed.

Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in the industrial automation industry is required. Strong interpersonal skills and excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English are essential to build and maintain effective relationships with customers and partners.
