Job Summary
The Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) is a globally recognized system designed to monitor displacement and population mobility by regularly collecting, processing, and sharing critical data. This system provides valuable insights into the movements and changing needs of displaced populations, whether they are at specific sites or in transit. Currently being implemented in Pakistan, DTM aims to strengthen its data collection efforts across multiple high-mobility locations. To support this initiative, DTM is seeking dedicated enumerators to join the team on a contractual basis, contributing to the accurate and timely gathering of displacement and migration data.
Key Responsibilities
Enumerators will play a vital role in preparing and organizing the data collection process by identifying key informants or groups relevant to the study. They will conduct both quantitative and qualitative data collection through face-to-face or telephonic interviews, ensuring that all activities are completed within set deadlines. Accuracy is paramount; therefore, enumerators must verify the data collected before submission and guarantee its timely delivery.
Regular updates on the progress of data collection are expected, along with prompt reporting of any challenges encountered, including issues related to data recording or submission. Enumerators are required to meet daily interview targets as specified by DTM to maintain consistent data flow.
Maintaining data integrity and confidentiality is critical. Enumerators must strictly adhere to the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) Data Protection manual throughout their work. Active participation in briefings, orientation sessions, and training programs is essential to stay aligned with project standards and protocols.
Representing the program professionally during all assignments is a must, and enumerators should be prepared to perform any additional duties assigned by their supervisors to support the overall success of the project.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have at least a secondary school diploma from an accredited educational institution. Undergraduate students and fresh graduates are encouraged to apply, providing an opportunity for those early in their careers to gain valuable field experience.
Fluency in Urdu is mandatory, as it is essential for effective communication during interviews. Strong communication skills and the ability to conduct interviews efficiently and respectfully are also required to ensure high-quality data collection.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is considered an advantage and may strengthen a candidate’s application. Prior experience in conducting face-to-face or telephone interviews for data collection purposes is beneficial but not mandatory.
Proficiency in regional languages such as Balochi, Pashto, Punjabi, or Sindhi will be viewed favorably, as it enhances communication with diverse communities. Additionally, the ability to communicate in English is an asset.
This position offers a daily ungraded wage of PKR 6,000, which includes travel and communication expenses related to field data collection. Employment is contractual, with work locations spanning various districts across Pakistan, including Abbottabad, Bannu, Buner, Charsadda, D.I Khan, Hangu, Haripur, Khyber District, Kohat, Lakki Marwat, Lower Chitral, Lower Dir, Lower Kohistan, Malakand, Mansehra, Peshawar, Swabi, Swat, Tank, Upper Chitral, Upper Dir, and Upper Kohistan.
IOM is committed to equal opportunity employment and strongly encourages applications from qualified female and male candidates, including persons with disabilities.
Only shortlisted candidates who meet the required criteria will be contacted. The deadline to apply is 26th June 2025.
