Job Summary
We are looking for a vigilant and responsible CCTV Operator to manage and oversee our surveillance systems, ensuring the safety and security of our premises at all times. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and the ability to work independently, maintaining constant vigilance to identify and report any suspicious activities promptly. This role demands dedication to monitoring high-risk zones and restricted areas, as well as effective collaboration with the security team during emergencies to support timely interventions.
Key Responsibilities
The CCTV Operator will continuously monitor live CCTV footage, promptly identifying and reporting any unusual or suspicious behavior. Ensuring that all cameras and recording equipment are fully operational is essential, requiring regular checks and immediate reporting of any technical malfunctions. The operator will work closely with the security team during emergency situations, providing live footage support and assisting in coordinated responses.
In addition to real-time monitoring, the role involves reviewing and retrieving video footage as needed for investigations or evidence collection. Special attention must be given to high-risk zones and restricted areas to enhance security coverage. The operator is responsible for reporting incidents, security breaches, or emergencies immediately to the appropriate authorities.
Maintaining detailed daily logs and preparing accurate incident reports is a critical part of the job. The operator will also identify and report any technical issues with CCTV equipment without delay and collaborate with IT and maintenance teams to ensure regular system upkeep and troubleshooting. Managing video recordings securely, including retrieval, archiving, and confidentiality, is vital. Adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) during drills, investigations, and evidence handling is mandatory to maintain operational integrity.
Required Qualifications
Candidates should have prior experience in CCTV operations or related security roles, demonstrating a solid understanding of surveillance practices. Basic knowledge of DVR/NVR systems, analog and IP cameras, and PoE switches is required to effectively monitor and troubleshoot surveillance equipment.
The role demands sustained alertness and focus during long shifts, including night hours, to ensure continuous security coverage. Strong observation skills, clear reporting abilities, and effective communication are essential for success. The minimum educational requirement is Matriculation or Intermediate (FA/FSc).
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Information
Holding a Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Information Technology or a related technical field is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate’s technical aptitude and troubleshooting capabilities.
