Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Mid-Level Accountant to join our dynamic team. This role is integral to managing the financial records of both our real estate and car rental businesses. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing accurate financial statements, managing income and provincial taxes, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor laws. This position demands strong organizational skills and the ability to efficiently handle multiple tasks across diverse business verticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, journals, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports that reflect the company’s financial status.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable, including invoicing and bank reconciliations, to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Oversee payroll processing while ensuring strict compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- File income tax returns and ensure timely compliance with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) requirements.
- Handle provincial taxes such as Sindh Sales Tax on Services (SRB) and other applicable levies, ensuring all filings are accurate and punctual.
- Liaise effectively with auditors, tax consultants, and government departments to facilitate audits and regulatory compliance.
- Assist in financial planning and budgeting processes, while maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Monitor vehicle-wise profitability reports and project-wise cash flows to support business decision-making.
- Maintain and update the asset register for the rental fleet and real estate projects, ensuring accurate tracking of company assets.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within real estate and/or service-based industries.
- Strong knowledge of Pakistan’s taxation system, including Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) regulations.
- Familiarity with labor laws and payroll compliance requirements to ensure accurate and lawful employee compensation.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical abilities, organizational skills, and clear communication capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently across different business verticals.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, in-person position based in Karachi, with working hours six days a week. The role may require occasional local travel. The monthly salary range is Rs50,000 to Rs60,000.
