Job Summary
The Senior Manager – Finance plays a critical role in maintaining the financial health and sustainability of the organization. This position is responsible for managing budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance in accordance with donor requirements and nonprofit regulations. By providing insightful financial analysis and support to the leadership team, the Senior Manager ensures effective resource allocation that aligns with the organization’s mission and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Budgeting
Lead the development and management of the annual budget, ensuring alignment with the school’s strategic priorities. Design and implement investment strategies that optimize income while balancing risk. Monitor expenditures regularly, analyze budget variances, and recommend corrective measures to maintain financial discipline. Deliver accurate financial forecasts and contribute to the organization’s long-term financial planning initiatives.

Accounting & Financial Reporting
Oversee all accounting functions including bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, and reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records. Prepare timely and comprehensive financial statements such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reports. Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.

Grants & Fund Management
Manage donor funds, grants, and sponsorships with rigorous tracking and transparent reporting. Ensure compliance with all grant conditions and timely submission of utilization certificates (UCs). Serve as the primary liaison with funding agencies and assist in the preparation of financial proposals to secure new funding opportunities.

Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to relevant NGO, Trust, and Society regulations, as well as tax laws and statutory filing obligations. Maintain robust internal financial controls and implement risk management practices to protect organizational assets and mitigate financial risks.

Stakeholder Coordination
Work closely with the NJV SMB Board, trustees, and donors on all financial matters. Present detailed financial reports during Board and Committee meetings to support informed decision-making. Provide training and guidance to staff on financial policies and procedures to enhance overall financial literacy within the organization.

Operational Efficiency
Drive continuous improvement of financial processes by adopting automation tools and industry best practices. Manage vendor payments and procurement activities to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Oversee banking relationships, investments, and cash flow management to support seamless financial operations.

Required Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) finalist or fully qualified.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-articleship experience in finance and accounting roles, preferably within nonprofit or similar sectors.

Additional Information
This is a full-time, in-person role requiring a proactive and hands-on approach to financial management. The Senior Manager – Finance will be a key contributor to the organization’s financial integrity, working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to support its mission and sustainable growth.
