Job Summary
The Media Engagement Coordinator will lead the Media Fellows Program, designed to train media professionals from all provinces and territories of Pakistan on gender and child rights issues. This role encompasses managing the full program lifecycle, including advertising and recruiting media fellows, coordinating training events, and maintaining consistent communication with participants and stakeholders. The coordinator will collaborate closely with the Ministry of Human Rights, NCSW, and UNICEF to ensure the program meets its objectives and achieves impactful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Advertising and Recruitment
The coordinator will promote the Media Fellows Initiative through diverse channels such as social media platforms, press releases, media networks, and partner organizations. They will oversee the selection process to secure a diverse and representative group of media personnel from across Pakistan. Responsibilities include screening applications, shortlisting candidates based on relevant experience, dedication to gender and child rights, and media influence. The coordinator will also engage with media organizations and stakeholders to encourage qualified applicants to participate.
Training Program Planning & Design
Working alongside NCSW, UNICEF, and other partners, the coordinator will help define the training content and objectives focused on gender equality and child rights. They will develop detailed training schedules and agendas in collaboration with trainers and subject matter experts. Organizing and customizing training materials such as handouts and presentations to suit the needs of media fellows is essential. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in creating promotional materials to support the training programs.
Event Coordination and Implementation
This role involves managing all logistics related to training events, including venue selection, travel arrangements, accommodation, and catering services. The coordinator will handle invitations and confirmations from media fellows and stakeholders, addressing any special requirements. They will facilitate participant registration and ensure smooth operations during the events. Maintaining effective communication with media fellows before, during, and after training sessions is critical. The coordinator will also provide on-site support to trainers and speakers to guarantee seamless event delivery.
Media Fellows Engagement and Support
The coordinator will maintain ongoing engagement with media fellows through regular communication, follow-ups, and feedback collection. Monitoring how fellows apply their training in their respective regions or media platforms is a key responsibility. Providing continuous support by responding to queries, offering resources, and guiding content development aligned with gender-sensitive and child-rights standards is expected. The coordinator will assist fellows in producing content such as articles, reports, and social media campaigns.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting
Tracking program success by monitoring participation, engagement, and the impact of media outputs on gender and child rights awareness is essential. The coordinator will collect feedback from fellows and stakeholders to assess training effectiveness and suggest improvements. They will prepare progress reports for UNICEF, NCSW, and other stakeholders, including data on engagement and event outcomes. Contributing to the program’s evaluation by documenting lessons learned for future enhancements is also required.
General Coordination and Administrative Tasks
Managing all administrative duties related to the program, including documentation and record-keeping, is part of the role. The coordinator will maintain updated records of media fellows’ contact details, attendance, and participation. Supporting the preparation of funding reports, proposals, or presentations as requested by UNICEF, NCSW, or other involved parties is also expected.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in media or a related field, with at least three years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within media contexts. Experience in organizing training programs or events is essential. A strong understanding of Pakistan’s media landscape, particularly regarding gender equality and child rights, is required. Prior experience working with media professionals is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Fluency in English and Urdu is mandatory, while proficiency in additional local languages is an advantage. This is a contract position offering a monthly salary of Rs150,000.
