Job Purpose:

  • Support in implementing and monitoring country’s communication strategy to aware audiences about the life changing work of organization alongside enhancing the brand image and authenticity

Technical Level:

  • Ensure compliance with the organization’s donors and partners' branding guidelines and standards.
  • Pursue opportunities for collaboration in the sector and media.
  • Promote the organization’s work through new and interesting practices.
  • Coordinate for seamless execution.
  • Forward planning and management of elements from large projects.
  • Advise on communications-related matters.
Operations Level:
  • Record management (both soft & hard) related to the job role.
  • Communication, planning & scheduling, time, stress & conflict management, situation handling, workload & team management.
  • Coordinate with internal (Media and Communications department) & external (vendors) for matters related to media management, execution, and planning.
  • Put in place a contingency plan/succession plan to deal with human factors affecting or potentially affecting organizational activities in your absence.
  • Maintain close coordination with the line manager for effective implementation of policies/guidelines.

Key Accountabilities:

The following are the main responsibilities that the role holder will be accountable for:

  • Ensure clear, coherent, and consistent communication about the strategic focus and activities.
  • Manage and improve media relations by preparing press releases, responding to inquiries, developing media outreach plans, and ensuring readiness of media material.
  • Develop content for the organization’s website, ensuring that information is clear and continuously updated.
  • Provide creative ideas and inputs for product development ranging from social and digital to print, electronic, and PR.
  • Prepare digital marketing tactics and strategies for various campaigns throughout the year.
  • Develop content for annual reports, publications, manuals, and IEC materials.
  • Draft speeches and presentations.
  • Support events by handling photography, social media, web updates, and talking points.
  • Ensure consistency in media material collection from field areas.
  • Coordinate with area and field teams to maintain smooth and effective working relationships.
  • Develop catchy and emotionally engaging content for social media platforms.
  • Work with program teams and partners to support the development and follow-up of visibility and communications plans for various projects.
  • Regularly visit project sites in the field to ensure a direct link between program work and produced material.
  • Maintain archives of communications and media products, including clippings.
  • Work closely with the communications team, program staff, and other stakeholders to understand video requirements and objectives.
  • Provide creative input during brainstorming sessions and offer suggestions for content improvement.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers, writers, and other team members to develop integrated multimedia campaigns.
Person Specification:

It is essential that the post holder demonstrates a good understanding and alignment with the organization’s values & principles, vision, and mission, as well as a commitment to its SEAH (Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment) protocols. The organization has a zero-tolerance policy toward SEAH and does not support any actions that promote or encourage SEAH.

Qualification:
  • Master’s degree from an HEC-recognized university in Media Studies/Communication Studies/Media Sciences.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a Master’s degree or 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, working in the media and communications unit of an international non-profit organization.
Language:
  • Expert-level fluency in both spoken and written Urdu and English.
Key Skills:
  • Strong organizational and personal management skills, with the ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines.
  • Strong social media skills (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, blogs).
  • Proven basic skills in photography, filming, and video editing.
  • Proven skills in using digital tools for content creation and editing (e.g., Adobe package).
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and maintain relationships.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and creative thinking skills with a good strategic perspective, capable of understanding complex issues and presenting them clearly.
  • Solid understanding of a broad range of development issues.
  • Experience in conceptualizing and managing the production of printed materials, including detailed reports.
  • Experience managing websites.
  • Demonstrated experience dealing with media.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing communication/media outreach plans aligned with corporate goals.
  • Demonstrated experience developing content that clearly communicates development ideas for media, web, print, and audio-visual production.
  • Experience overseeing translation work.
  • Competency with office software packages, including PowerPoint, Excel, and basic design software.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations or international NGOs is a plus
