The role involves a comprehensive set of responsibilities related to the handling, documentation, and compliance of import/export cargo.
Main Accountabilities:
- To perform proper weight & dimensions of all outbound cargo as per laid down procedures.
- To ensure 100% scanning of all outbound cargo.
- To ensure proper storage of cargo as per the storage place & IATA Regulations regarding warehousing.
- Perform a details inspection of ULDs before cargo build-up.
- Supervision of accepted / custom-cleared cargo and preparation for loading according to the planning given by the airlines.
- Preparation of a manifest for export cargo and ensuring the taking of a signature from the freight officer.
- To prepare documents of all outbound cargo/concertina for the flight.
- To move the cargo by appropriate means as per the nature/requirements of that shipment.
- To ensure proper safeguarding of all outgoing & incoming cargo to avoid damage due to bad weather or otherwise.
- Perform proper inspection of imported ULDs at the aircraft according to the incoming manifest and timely clearance of apron by sending the incoming cargo to the warehouse.
- Personally hand over all documents, including MAWB / HAWB / Manifest to the flight purser / PIC.
- Perform checking & identifying of import cargo and preparing a correct cargo summary during breakdown of import cargo.
- To prepare a damage cargo report if applicable and in case of discrepancy, inform to superior officer and the Airline representative and the origin via email / SITA.
- To allocate IGM No and notify to consignee and prepare delivery orders.
- Immediate delivery of prior release cargo.
- To keep themselves updated regarding ETA & ETD of flights.
- Perform monthly inspection of whole cargo department as per SOP: RAS/ISB/CGO/XXX/SOP/010.
- Perform all IT-related functions e.g. RCS, MAN, Manifestation, SITA Telexes.
- Handle/respond all emails consisting of customer complaints, queries & discrepancies regarding cargo operations.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3rd year/ last semester student pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field.
- Ability to drive through policies and procedures.
- Good working knowledge of Airline standards.
- Be proactive, forward-thinking, and trustworthy individual.
