You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing transportation routes to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods or services. They play a crucial role in logistics, supply chain management, and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.⁠ ⁠Route Planning & Optimization:

  • Develop and implement efficient transport routes to minimize costs and delivery times.
  • Use route optimization software and GPS tracking to enhance efficiency.
  • Adjust routes based on traffic, weather, and operational constraints.

2.⁠ ⁠Fleet & Driver Management:

  • Assign vehicles and drivers to routes based on availability and capacity.
  • Ensure drivers comply with schedules, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Monitor driver performance and provide guidance or training as needed.

3.⁠ ⁠Logistics Coordination:

  • Collaborate with warehouse, supply chain, and customer service teams to align transportation plans.
  • Schedule deliveries and pickups in line with customer demands and company goals.
  • Manage backhauls and load consolidation to optimize costs.

4.⁠ ⁠Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure adherence to transport regulations, including vehicle maintenance, driver working hours, and road safety laws.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols.
  • Maintain up-to-date records for audits and compliance reporting.

5.⁠ ⁠Technology & Data Analysis:

  • Utilize transport management systems (TMS) and GPS tracking to monitor fleet movements.
  • Analyze transport data to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.
  • Report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as fuel consumption, delivery times, and cost savings.

6.⁠ ⁠Cost Control & Budgeting:

  • Manage transport budgets, controlling fuel, maintenance, and labor costs.
  • Negotiate contracts with transport providers and vendors.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.

7.⁠ ⁠Customer Service & Problem-Solving:

  • Address and resolve transport-related issues, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, and route deviations.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and delays.
  • Develop contingency plans for emergencies and disruptions.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, or a related field.
  • Experience in transport planning, logistics, or fleet management.
  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in route planning software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills.
